The Curragh is delighted to announce that Fitzpatrick’s Mercedes-Benz will become the official car partner of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival taking place from the 28th to 30th June.
The partnership will see a display of the latest Mercedes-Benz range of cars at the venue throughout the month of June, together with a variety of marketing and promotional initiatives which will take place including sponsorship of Fitzpatrick’s Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Derby on day 1 of the festival on Friday evening 28th June. This celebrated contest over 12 furlongs will carry record prize money of €30,000 this year and is undoubtedly the race that every apprentice jockey aspires to win.
Previous recent winning jockeys include Gavin Ryan, Dylan Brown McMonagle and Ben Curtis, while James Ryan won the race last year abroad Tudor City.
Announcing the sponsorship, Sean Lyons CEO Fitzpatrick’s Garage Group stated they were delighted to be partners with the Curragh Racecourse for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival. “We will showcase the fabulous range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles at The Curragh, and hopefully tempt some lucky winners to place deposits. We are thrilled to be part of the Curragh success story and are looking forward to what promises to be a very exciting and enjoyable racing weekend”.
Evan Arkwright Racing and Sponsorship Manager said:
“We are delighted to renew our association with the Fitzpatrick’s Garage Group and thank Sean and his team for their continued support. It is fitting that such a luxury car brand is associated with the most prestigious weekend in the Irish racing calendar”.
In addition, Fitzpatrick’s Garage Group will continue to be the official car partner of the Autumn Racing Weekend on 28th and 29th September, a weekend which features the Goffs Million on Saturday and Friends of The Curragh Irish Cesarewitch on Sunday.
