Owners and Trainers

Upon arrival at the racecourse, owners and trainers with a declared runner (s) should present their AIR cards (admission card issued by the Association of Irish Racecourses) at the AIR desk, located in the reception area at the main entrance, to receive their allocation of race day admission, a complimentary race card and a wrist band giving access to the Tattersalls Owners and Trainers club and the parade ring.

Should you wish to send a representative in your place, please order your AIR representative badges by 12 noon the day before racing via the HRI Ownership website.

Owner guests and syndicates and club members should give their names at the AIR desk to receive racecourse admission, a complimentary race card and access to the Tattersalls Owners & Trainers Club in addition to the parade ring.  Please refer to the HRI Ownership guidelines on ticket allocations.

Owners and trainers with a runner on the day are entitled to complimentary car parking in Area A (blue car park) adjacent to the main entrance by showing the dated car park label, sent by HRI at time of declaration of runners, to the parking attendant. Parking is limited and is on a first come first served basis. Our team of parking attendants will guide owner guests, syndicate, and club members to additional parking Area B/D (Yellow car park) nearby if it is required.

All winning owners are presented with a memento following the race and are accompanied by a member of The Curragh team for a celebratory drink and to watch a replay of the race. They also receive a framed souvenir photograph of their winning horse.

Owners and Trainers should contact the racecourse in advance to ensure all arrangements with regards to tickets, car parking, complimentary hospitality are in order. Upon arrival, owners and trainers of overseas trained runners should go to the AIR desk to collect their tickets.

Horses travelling from overseas will be stabled in secure overnight stables at the racecourse. While your horse is based at the Curragh, it will have the best equine care to ensure the highest welfare standards are met.

It is important that overseas based trainers contact the Curragh in advance to make the necessary arrangements for their horses.

For hygiene reasons, only shavings or paper bedding are provided by the racecourse. Horses will also have access to facilities of the Curragh Training Grounds during their stay.

Complimentary dining for stable staff working on race days is available in the Stable Staff Canteen, sponsored by Moyglare Stud, while there is also a lounge available for use on race days.

For overseas runners, trainers should contact The Curragh in advance in order for us to arrange complimentary accommodation for their employees and transfers during their stay.

There is a prize presented to the groom in charge of the horse judged to be best turned out in all races. The trainer, whose staff win the most Best Turned Out Awards each month, will receive a prize courtesy of Cavalor Equine Nutrition.

The Curragh will offer trainers the opportunity to gallop their horses on the track after the races on a limited number of days, subject to suitability of ground conditions. Bookings must be made no later than 12 noon the day before. If on a Sunday, this must be done by 12 noon Friday. The name of the horse and vaccination details must be sent to [email protected].

The Curragh stages two races as part of the Breeders Cup “Win and You’re In Challenge series – the Moyglare Stud Stakes (Group 1) and Flying Five Stakes (Group 1). These Group 1 races will earn automatic starting berths, waived entry fees and travel incentives into the corresponding race in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

The winner of the GAIN Railway Stakes, July Stakes and Coventry Stakes receive a free entry to the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (Group 1).

The winners of the Paddy Power Pretty Polly Stakes (Group 1) and the Juddmonte Irish Oaks (Group 1) will receive free entries to the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, Kyoto Racecourse.

The winner of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby will receive a free entry to the Japan Cup, Toyko Racecourse.

The winner and horses placed second and third in the Comer Group International Oleander Rennan in Hoppengarten will receive a free entry to The Comer Group International Irish St. Leger (Group 1).
